RIP to the inimitable Ken Downie [1966 - 20/12/25] of The Black Dog. the first era of Black Dog records were so very influential to us here at phaos and if you don't know 'em... well, you gotta!
mad respect to a visionary and a pioneer.
may his soul navigate the great beyond with prosperity & a memory of all that it learned & loved in this past turn of the wheel.
read Ken's history in his own words here, circa 2000(?)

funny + highly relatable excerpt this CiM interview (circa 2001). defocus was a great label, as well; be sure to check it out.
CiM is one of our favorite traxx makers!

happy NYE!
still here, still making trax, despite & in spite of the w0rld.
more to come, soon.
in the wise words of an oldhead...
STAY TUNED,
GET PULSED!

lnrdcroy: in the middle of my teens, i used to stay up all night, and in the early morning, while the streets were still empty, i would ride my bike across the city listening to my favorite songs as i went along. i was always yearning for some cleft in the skyline i could step into, one that would finally transport me into real life, into promises the present failed to keep.
ps. i would have been listening to this:
microwave xt taking it easy @ ambleside beach, west vancouver.
